Snoozeluxe orthopaedic dog beds are available in five sizes, from S to XXL, covering all breeds from small companion dogs to very large breeds. This page helps you find the right size based on your dog's body length. All sizes are available in four models: Flat, Lounge, Corner and Sofa.
The correct size is determined by measuring your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Select the size where the maximum dog length is greater than your measurement. All values already include the required margin, bed structure and usable mattress space. No additional calculation is needed.
If your measurement falls between two sizes, always choose the larger size.

Small Dog Beds - Size S
Suitable for dogs up to 50 cm body length. The size S bed is designed for small companion breeds that prefer a compact sleeping space with full body support. Despite the smaller footprint, the construction is identical to larger sizes - the same high-resilience foam, the same Cordura® cover and the same modular component system.

Suitable for dogs up to 114 cm body length. The size XXL bed is the largest in the Snoozeluxe range and is designed for giant breeds that need the maximum available lying surface. At 143 cm long and 107 cm wide, it provides ample room for full body extension and natural repositioning during rest. Before ordering, confirm that the bed fits the intended room, including clearance around it and access through doorways.

Crate Beds by Size
Crate beds are designed for enclosed environments and follow a different sizing approach to orthopaedic beds. They are thinner and dimensionally smaller, built to fit inside standard dog crates while preserving headroom.
When selecting a crate bed for use inside a crate, measure the internal length and width of the crate and choose a bed that fits within those dimensions. The crate defines the available space - do not use your dog's body length as the primary reference.
When used outside a crate, select the size where the maximum dog length is greater than your dog's body measurement.

Crate beds provide less usable surface and less mattress thickness than orthopaedic beds. Where floor space permits, an orthopaedic bed offers greater comfort and freedom of movement.
Choosing the Right Model for Your Size
Every size is available in four models. The model does not affect the external bed dimensions or the mattress, but it does affect how much free lying surface is available - because headrests take up a portion of the total length.
The Flat Bed has no headrests and offers the largest free surface for a given size. It suits dogs that move frequently or prefer to spread out without restriction. The Lounge Bed has one headrest along one side and suits dogs that like to rest their head on a raised edge. The Corner Bed has two headrests and suits dogs that gravitate towards a corner when sleeping. The Sofa Bed has three headrests and suits dogs that prefer clearly defined boundaries on multiple sides.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which size is right for my dog?
Measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Then select the size where the maximum dog length - shown in the tables above - is greater than your measurement. Why does the max dog length differ between models of the same size?
Each headrest takes up a portion of the total bed length, reducing the free lying surface. A Sofa Bed in size L has three headrests and therefore less usable length than a Flat Bed in the same size. The model-specific tables account for this - no manual calculation is needed.
My dog's measurement falls between two sizes. Which should I choose?
Always choose the larger size. A bed that is slightly too large causes no problems - a bed that is too small restricts natural movement and is less likely to be used consistently. This is especially important for dogs that stretch fully, large breeds and senior dogs.
Why does mattress thickness increase from size L upwards?
From size L onwards, the mattress thickness increases from 10 cm to 15 cm. Larger dogs have greater body weight, which increases downward pressure on the mattress during rest. The greater thickness ensures the foam maintains its support over time and prevents bottoming out under sustained load.
Do all sizes use the same foam and materials?
Yes. All Snoozeluxe orthopaedic beds use 40 kg/m³ high-resilience polyurethane foam, Cordura® polyamide covers with a three-sided YKK® zip, a waterproof PU-coated mattress protector and an anti-slip underlay. All materials are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. The construction is identical across all sizes - only the dimensions and mattress thickness change.
